182/365 Half Way

"Ready to Dig In!"

Today marks the half way point through 2013 and my first year of Capture Your 365.  I am proud to say that I have taken and posted a picture every single day for the past 182 days.  I wasn't sure that I would make it this far.  There have been days and nights where I have barely had the time and or energy to do that things that absolutely had to be done yet somehow I always managed a photo.  I will be the first to admit that there are many that are not good, but I don't think the goal here is to take a super photo every day; it to to document our life.  Like some of the photos, some days just aren't good.  The good thing about that is that it makes you appreciate those that are so much more.

They say that it takes twenty eight days of doing something for it to become a habit.  A photo a day has gone beyond being a habit to what some would probably call an obsession.  I prefer to think of it as a passion.  I have learned to look at the world around me more intentionally finding interest and beauty in the simple ordinary things and places of my life.  I have learned to embrace imperfection.  I have learned that my husband is a good sport and super supportive.  I was reminded of that as I looked back through the year's photos and saw all the photos where he agreed to be my subject when I was fresh out of ideas.  This is a win-win for me.  I got photos on those days and I have pictures of him!

Though I have been in a creative slump over the past few weeks, I am looking forward to whatever I can find to photograph over the next 193 days.  I am determined to get to December 31st having taken a photo a day for an entire year.

I am ready to dig in to the last half of 2013.
