45-53/365-3 Another Round of Catching Up

February seems to have whizzed by and I have no idea where it has gone!  All month I have been making lists of things that I need to do and I have actually crossed a goodly number of them off, but it seems that I am adding new things faster than I am removing accomplished tasks and the lists continues to grow.  The good news in all of this is that I have gotten a lot done, both things that I need to do and a few that I want to do.  I'll continue to work to whittle down at the rest trying to be gentle with myself about the places where I have fallen short.

As I write this tonight, I have a wicked cold that is not doing anything to help my productivity.  The good news is that due to an impending ice storm, school has been cancelled for tomorrow.  That gives me some to get some extra rest in the hope of defeating the cold and some time to catch up on other things.  I consider the ice and cold to be a gracious gift from Mother Nature, just what I need right now.

And now to catch up on the daily photos so that I can scratch that off of my list.

45/365 Valentine

"Edible Valentine"

We celebrated a simple Valentine's Day sharing bagels and coffee.  That evening, We went to see Book of Mormon with some friends.  That show is so wrong but so hilarious!

46/365 Depth of Field

"Bones"

The dogs supervised this shot in case any props happen to be dropped along the way.

47/365 Flowing

"Goofy Grapes"

This was a last ditch effort taken and edited very late at night with my phone.

48/365 Wide

"Rainy Afternoon"

Standing out in the rain taking this shot reminded me how much I love rain.

49/365 XOXO

"XO"

A late night photo of a late night snack.

50/365 Isolate It

"Quiet Life"

51/365 Colored Bokeh

"Signs of Spring"

On the way out to the mailbox on Friday afternoon we noticed the first dandelion of the year, the first sign of spring.  I felt like I needed to document that, but I also felt a bit guilty about our dandelions and seventy degree weather while so much of the country was immobilized by snow and bitter cold temperatures.  And now it is 28 degrees here and we will wake up tomorrow morning to a blanket of ice.

52/365 Indistinct

"Wishes"

This was not the photo that I intended to take for the prompt, but it was my favorite photo of the day so it became my daily photo.

53/365 Looking Forward

"Frankie"

Nothing was happening for me creatively today.  Though I am usually a positive person, always preferring to look forward rather than backward, I just couldn't muster any enthusiasm for the day's shot.  Perhaps this is because of the cold that has taken up residence in my head.  Now that I think about it, I really don't feel well.  On the up side, I did get a picture of Frankie for this month.

For what it's worth, I am now caught up here...one less thing on my list!

40-44/365-3 Catching Up!

Wow!, I just dont seem to be able to keep up with it all right now!  Between school responsibilities, the tasks of working on my dad's estate, and NOAH, I am struggling to stay afloat.  I knew that I was a few days behind here, but I didnt realize that I hadnt posted a single photo all week.  Where did the week go?

Though I really dont have the time, I do manage to make the time each day to take my photo of the day.  That may sound a little selfish, but if I dont have some creative outlet with all the other stuff that is going on, I will literally go crazy.  Even when taken late at night in a rush, there is joy in picking up my camera and taking a photo of something every day.

I wish that I had more time to write.  That is the one thing that I really miss right now.  Well, and a clean house.  I am further behind with housekeeping than I am here with blog posts.  Tonight I am going to catch up here and tomorrow I will make an attempt to clean the house.  My Valentine;s treat to myself is not setting an alarm in the morning.  Hopefully I will wake up early enough to get something productive done before we go out tomorrow evening with friends.

So here are the weekly photos - better late than never.

40/365-3 So Lovely

"Midnight Rose"

No, this is not some new hybrid rose.  It gets its name from the fact that it was nerly midnight when I actually took this shot.   This was a "macro Monday" shot, one of my favorite repeating monthly prompts.

41/365-3 Striking

"Contrast"

I like this quote and attempted to create a photo that adequately reflects the words.

42/365-3 Cozy

"Menage a Trois"

This was another photo taken very late at night.  I truly thought that this was going to be the day that I missed my daily photo.  I had no time left and not a single creative thought in my head.  Weber had gotten me thi pillow as a Valentine's Day gift.  The image is by a now deceased artist from Vermont.  We visited his studio while we were on our honeymoon.  Weber offered the gift to me early in the hope it would satisfy the daily prompt.  I dont know if it really addresses the prompt, but it is my photo of the day anyway.

43/365-3 A Favorite

"A Few of My Favorite Things"

Thursday are my longest teaching days.  They start early and I teach five hours straight before lunch.  Needless to say by 1:30 I was more than ready for lunch.  Weber always packs our lunches.  He is way more efficient in the morning than I am.  I was surprised and happy to find a couple of Hershey Kisses in my lunch bag.  They were exactly what I needed to get me through the last three hours of my work day and work week!

44/365-3 Pretty In Pink

"Love You!

I dont know about the pretty part, but I managed the pink.  I left Weber his Valentine's Day message with sidewalk chalk  on the driveway.  It beats no card at all, right?

And, there is a new post on Pixels, Plates, and LOLs.  Stop by for some recipes for some sweet treats!

39/365-3 Pink

"Believe in Pink"

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles." - Audrey Hepburn

38/365-3 Gateway

"Home!"

My favorite gateway is the one that leads to home.

37/365-3 I Heart Minifigures

"Love Is Love"

36/365-3 My View

"A View Around Campus"

After twenty two years of walking this path I finally stopped long enough to take a picture.

35/365-3 I Heart Trees

"Nature"

Today's challenge was to find a heart shape in a tree.  This is not a tree, obviously, but it is the best I could find today.

34/365-3 Where I Stand

"Where I Sit"

Admittedly, this photo is more about where I sit. All of my standing today was in from of my classes and thus no photos during school. By the time my teaching day was over all I wanted to do was sit down and kick my shoes off. I am notoriously bad about twisting my feet around my desk chair while I'm working. And yes, I have been known to stand up too quickly (or try) and fall because I am so twisted up in the chair's legs:-) As worn out as I am at the end of the school day, if I strip off the stressful and tiring layers of the day, deep down I am truly happy. My orange "happy" socks remind me me to give thanks for that.

33/365-3 Blurred Background

"Just Love Me"

We have LOTS of books at our house and they get used often to answer questions, settle arguments, and expand our minds, but there is not a single one of them that will help anyone to understand me:-) This mug was a Valentine's Day gift before Weber and I got married. I bought it for him as kind of a warning I guess:-

32/365-3 February Selfie; "I Heart"

"Love Yourself"

My attitude about the monthly selfies has improved greatly over the past twenty five months.  Unfortunately, I ran out of time and light on this one; this is what was left.

31/365-3 One Done

"761, 25, 31,1"

This photos marks 761 days or 25 months straight of taking a photo a day.  It is photo number 31 for the 2015.  It is also the first month where I have been successful at loading all of daily photos into the Collect app on my phone.  And, I have uploaded my photos to Persnickety Prints to have my January photos printed as Project Life cards.  I am anxiously awiting their delivery!
