279/365-2 October Macro - Whole

"Cups and Tea"

Very rarely does something happen in my life that I can't make fit the daily prompt.  Today, however, was one of those days.

A relatively new friend, but one who has become dear to us very quickly, made us these tea cups to go with two others and a matching pot that we won last summer as part of the NOAH conference silent auction.  They are "so us" and serve as a tangible reminder of the blessings that true friendship brings.

I needed to take a photo of the cups, but I also wanted to attempt the macro shot that is today's prompt.  This photo is a compromise. And as is often the case where compromise is involved, it does neither goal justice.

Despite what my family says, that is loose tea, nothing more.  Neither my husband or my daughter wanted to explain to me how they knew that my tea looked like a mood altering substance that is perhaps a little stronger than caffeine.  I'll just have to take their word for it.

You know that you are addicted to photography when your first instinct regarding a "thank you" note is to take a picture.  Here is the photo that I posted on Facebook earlier to say thank-you to Richard for sharing his talents and his heart with us.  We are blessed to call him and his wife friends.

278/365-2 Colored Bokeh

"Pretty In Red"

Yah, well...I didn't really pick up the camera today.  But, I am prepared for school tomorrow!  Tests are graded and assignments are organized.  that counts for something, right?  In light of all of that, I am stealing a picture that I took yesterday.  It does have nice fall bokeh and the kid let me take her picture!  That is two weekends in a row!

277/365-2 A Household Chore - October Self Portrait

"There Is Always Laundry"

The laundry never seems to end, even with only two of us.

I didn't have much enthusiasm for this prompt today, but I did have the opportunity for a few shots of the girls...always a lot more fun than selfies!

"Out of Focus"

Out of focus pretty much sums up my state of being right now...

275/365-2 Lines

"Great Grate"

My brain was quite tired tonight.  I had no idea what to shoot today and not much energy with which to think about it.  As Weber and I were driving through town on our way to dinner, I was looking for anything that had even the least bit of interest in its lines.  We passed the library and I decided that would do.  Since this is where Brooke works, it also has a bit of personal significance.

The library's entrance has lots of interesting lines assuming that you can get at the proper angle, which I could not.  There were cars in the way and I wanted to make sure that I avoided photographing any people because I was not in the mood to engage any strangers for permission to take their pictures.  When I finally found a position that would give me a reasonable shot at the lines, I realized that the trash can was smack in the middle.  Oh well...a few shots and I'm out of here.  I am too tired to try to solve this problem.

"Library Lines"

As I turned to head back to the car, the grate around one of the trees caught my eye.  It was during the golden hour and all of the fallen leaves and dropped flower petals that had made their way beneath the grate seemed to have taken on magical colors and the geometry of the grate itself was quite beautiful.  I'm sure all of the library patrons who passed by me were wondering what the heck I was photographing.  When all was said and done, the photo of the grate was my favorite.

This is a just for fun shot using some of yesterday's pumpkins.

274/365-2 PWA's

"PWA's"

In the albinism community there are those who find it offensive to be called an albino, preferring the more politically correct term "person with albinism" or PWA.  So here I bring you politically correct PWA's - Pumpkins With Albinism.
