Please extend my congratulations to her (and also for getting into the University of Chicago). What a great experience that will be for her! Having had the Indiana experience as a born and bred Californian, I highly suggest you get her some of the wonderful silk long johns from Lands End as a going-away present, hee) Enjoy these last few weeks with her - make them memorable (As much as it saddens you, let's face reality: We seldom return to our parents after we leave for college except for a handout now and then ;-(

Although she surely doesn't remember me since she was so young when I left Denton, it feels like I know her somewhat since she appears from the stories in your blog to have so many of your traits (Exhibit A: Procrastination!) I remember how you used to procrastinate on those papers in our doctoral program that had been assigned for us to write from the beginning of semester; yet, you always managed to pull it off at the last minute much to my chagrin (since I, the "Organized One") had been working on them for weeks! Or an example of even more procrastination: writing programming code for the Ottman software (UGH!). Ok, being honest, even I procrastinated on that one since it was so incredibly dull!

Take care!

LuanneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
